St. George's Episcopal Church, Riverside CA

Seeking and serving Christ in all persons.

The Book List

Your Vestry plays a very important role in the planning and administration of St. George's Riverside. It has three primary responsibilities. The first two are managerial: to take care of parish finances and parish buildings and finally to choose church members to fill the various positions of parish leadership and representation.*

Serving on the Vestry is not a commitment that is taken lightly by those who are chosen to fulfill the responsibilities assigned during their terms. It is imperative for Vestry members to be acquainted with the laws of church and state under which they operate and be certain that they conform to them.*

Vestry members are elected by the whole parish and must endeavor to represent the interests of all parish members. Their goal involves working to realize a vision of what your parish could become. This entails working together to effect change that will take the parish in a positive direction whether it be growth, outreach, stewardship or financial. However, they are not the only ones responsible for bringing the vision to fruition. It takes every St. Georgian to get involved. You can help by volunteering on one of the many committees that are necessary to keep St. George's running smoothly.

Vestry Meets the Fourth Sunday of each month at the Church. Meetings begin at 1:30 PM. Parish members are invited to attend. Please check our website calendar for exact times and meeting dates.
